Gopal Pandar

Gopal Pandar finds himself 25 feet off the ground on most of the days, with sweat-soaked fingers grasping the ropes, or a harness holding him by, and on some auspicious days neither there to let him do what he loves most. Be it ascending a boulder or even zip-lining down, with just a rope holding him and a motivating colleague close by – he finds his Chi away from home. While for some, this is a challenging undertaking, and may go do it once in a lifetime, he finds it much more than a one-time thrill. It is a channel for him to let off steam and get away from the monotony of life, and find internal harmony.

What sticks with him after a climb is not just the adrenaline rush, but something about being so high off the ground that it changes perspectives. His mind, normally is darting between a hundred different thoughts, and suddenly becomes one, solely focused on each detail of the rock face, his gear, his climb, his heart rate, the wind whistling, and the sunlight. It’s like a daring mindfulness.

Yes, he has a degree of threat, rush of blood and a craving to do it, and while many would label him as a "Thrill Seeker, Adrenaline Junkie, Daredevil", he has earned to be called so.
